Location: Mainly Remote (travel to North East may be required)

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist a blind employee within a legal team. The role is primarily remote, but occasional travel to the North East for team days, CPD, or essential meetings may be required. Overnight stays may also be necessary.
You will play a key role in enabling your colleague to perform all aspects of their job effectively, including navigating documents, formatting, proofreading, and handling system tasks. Attention to detail and confidentiality are critical.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend virtual meetings and assist the colleague with document navigation.
* Use Microsoft Teams to request screen control to help with:
* Opening files in case management systems
* Logging time
* Submitting annual leave requests
* Convert PDFs to Word and verify accuracy.
* Prepare comparison documents and guide the colleague through agreements.
* Proofread and format communications including emails, advice notes, and contracts.
* Assist with any ad hoc tasks to enable the colleague to perform their role.
* Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
Required Skills & Experience
* Experience supporting visually impaired colleagues or familiarity with screen reading software (JAWS preferred).
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Teams.
* Excellent attention to detail, particularly in document conversion and proofreading.
* Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
* Flexible approach to travel and occasional overnight stays.
