Property Inspector - Make a real difference in our Boston Communities

Location: Boston & wider Lincolnshire Contract: Permanent Salary: £34,443

We have multiple new positions as Property Inspectors to join our Repairs Team

As a Property Inspector, you play a key role in supporting the delivery of an effective repairs and empty homes service by providing professional technical inspection and surveying expertise.

Your main responsibilities will be to conduct technical inspections related to empty homes and repairs, completing both pre- and post-inspections in line with service standards, and offering technical advice on repairs and empty homes matters. You will also ensure that customer and colleague enquiries are resolved promptly and effectively.

What would a typical week as Property Inspector look like?

As a Property Inspector, youll be at the heart of our main priority of ensuring Really Good Repairs. As you may imagine, this isnt always easy, and requires empathy, strong effective communication skills and bags of resilience, a typical week could look as follows:

* Carry out pre-inspections for responsive repairs to scope work accurately
* Undertake health & safety site audits on ongoing jobs.
* Conduct post-inspections on recently completed works to check quality and compliance.
* Visit any properties with customer complaints, investigate issues, and advise on remedial action.
* Process any urgent rechargeable repair investigations.
* Complete void property inspections (initial visit) to identify required work for re-let standards.
* Liaise with contractors and void coordinators on turnaround times.
* Inspect customers applications for permission to undertake improvements (e.g., sheds, fencing, structural changes).
* Carry out technical site inspections across active repairs to ensure compliance with specs and safety legislation.
* Conduct mutual exchange pre-inspections, identifying repairs required by both parties.
* Complete post-inspections for recent mutual exchanges.
* Keep accurate records on our housing management system and contribute to property data accuracy)

What are we looking for?

It would be great if you had:

* A Level 3 qualification in construction management
* At least 2 years of experience working in a repair service environment
* Significant understanding of the construction and maintenance requirements of domestic housing in the UK.
* Exceptional organisation skills with attention to detail.
* Numerate with strong analytical skills.
* Commercially aware with an eye for value for money.
* Confident in dealing with people and can communicate clearly and effectively at all levels within the organisation.
* Flexible, with the ability to prioritise in an environment of constant change.
* Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required. .
* Solution oriented alongside being thorough and accurate.
* Competent in use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, MS Teams, and O365 suite of products).
* High communication skills, both oral and written.
* Full Driving license with access to own vehicle
