Senior Buyer
The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing procurement strategy, contract negotiations and supply chain performance for regional operating units and projects.
Responsibilities
* Identify regional operating unit demand and supply‑chain capacity.
* Deliver procurement strategy for projects and regional demand, developing supply‑chain relationships.
* Provide market‑standard procurement solutions demonstrating best value for money.
* Execute procurement of sub‑contractors and materials, including:
o Work winning / pre‑construction strategy and supply‑chain selection for Bid Leader.
o Construction‑stage project procurement for project teams, overseeing:
+ Procurement schedule development and management.
+ Production of work package documents.
+ Technical and commercial negotiations with suppliers.
+ Sub‑contract preparation and issuance in coordination with project teams.
+ Management of NEC4 and Schedule 5 sub‑contract formalities, including execution, bonds and warranties.
o Supply‑chain management: structure, performance monitoring, relationship management to drive cost benefits.
o Encourage efficient, productive and continuously improving supply‑chain performance within the trades.
o Support group procurement functional goals and objectives within the region.
Qualifications
* Experience in a procurement role, preferably within construction or civil engineering.
* CIPS accredited or currently working towards accreditation is an advantage.
* Experience as a Senior Subcontract Buyer in engineering or construction.
* Proven record of securing multiple high‑value NEC contract awards with strong risk management focus.
* Detailed knowledge of construction processes from pre‑construction to construction stages.
* Working knowledge of PMEICA procurement is highly desirable but not essential.
