This is a wonderful role in which you will help to “do good” in the world and help protect vulnerable people who are unable to represent themselves legally or take important life-changing decisions. As someone with a legal background, you will help to give a voice to those who are vulnerable and open to abuse when they are no longer able to do so themselves through illness, injury or old age. This role is based in North London and you will join a specialist firm of lawyers that works towards protecting vulnerable people. You must have some experience of dealing with property issues related to Wills and have a Court of Protection background. It’s rewarding ethical work in which your personal skills of clarity and kindness will be important
Job Title: Court of Protection Associate
Location: North London
Salary: £52,000 ( based of £45,000 per annum + bonus of up to additional £7,200 per annum
Job Type: Full-time (3 days in office/2 days wfh)
Summary
You will need about 2 years post-qualification experience to join its well-established Private Client department set up to protect and represent the vulnerable. It’s a wonderful, specialised role and you will be based in the Property team working within the framework of the Court of Protection. The role is rewarding and you will be dealing with complex and high-value estates and will need to have the interpersonal skills and show kindness to the families involved .
Responsibilities:
* Manage a caseload of Court of Protection matters (Property & Affairs)
* Fully support clients, and their families to ensure decisions are made in the best interests of the vulnerable individual
* Prepare and manage Court applications,
* Prepare Statutory Will applications
* Attend and represent the Deputy at Court of Protection hearings
* Be a detective and investigate suspicions of financial abuse
Requirements:
* 2 years PQE in Court of Protection (Property & Affairs)
