We are seeking a dynamic, inspirational KS1 teacher to join the team at Stamford Junior School. This is a full-time temporary role for a period of 6 months, covering the Autumn Term. We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching and learning. Applicants must have experience and success in working with children across the primary age range and have secure subject knowledge in all areas of the primary curriculum.

* Degree‑level qualification (or equivalent) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Highly skilled practitioner with a strong record of success during initial teacher training or subsequent teaching experience.
* Secure and well‑developed subject knowledge across the primary curriculum, with particular experience and strength in the teaching of phonics, early reading and early writing.
* Demonstrable experience of teaching and learning within EYFS and Key Stage 1, with a clear understanding of the developmental needs of younger pupils.
* Strong understanding of child development, including the transition from Early Years to more structured learning.
* Strong knowledge of systematic synthetic phonics and effective early literacy and numeracy teaching strategies.
* Ability to plan and deliver engaging, creative and well‑structured learning that inspire pupils and support them in achieving their personal best.
* Commitment to fostering a love of learning across the curriculum.
* Ability to create a stimulating, language‑rich classroom environment that supports early learning and independence.
* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive, supportive relationships with pupils.
* Commitment to the pastoral care and emotional wellbeing of all pupils.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work positively and professionally with parents and carers.
* A collaborative team member who contributes positively to the wider life of the school.
* Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative and creativity, bringing new ideas and reflective practice into the classroom.
* Willingness to act as a positive ambassador for the school within the wider community.
* Able to contribute to the extracurricular life of the school.
* A commitment to own CPD.
* Provide a suitable enhanced DBS disclosure.
