A new opportunity has arisen in the Quality department here at Swegon. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a driven and enthusiastic Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team. The role will report to the Quality Manager and will be based at our site in Snodland.
Position Summary:
As the new Quality Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to address current challenges in both office and factory settings. You will introduce new processes and procedures and drive continuous improvements across the full product lifecycle. Your goal will be to ensure our products are safe, reliable, and meet customer expectations by challenging processes, equipment, and personnel to improve capability, reliability, performance, and compliance, all while maintaining effective and cost-efficient design and manufacturing processes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Represent quality in Vantage Point for product and process adherence.
2. Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining and improving the ISO 9001 QMS and ISO 14001 EMS.
3. Manage the Calibration System for Monitoring and Measurement Equipment.
4. Perform Root Cause Analysis and implement robust corrective actions using proven methodologies (8D, 5Y, Cause and Effect, etc.).
5. Conduct Internal Quality and Environmental Audits, ensuring findings are addressed promptly.
6. Lead site ISO audits (Quality, Environmental, and Factory Process Control).
7. Perform dimensional and visual inspections and compile reports.
8. Support the introduction of new projects into the factory with the operational development team.
9. Assist with activities and documentation for NPI & APQP activities (FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC).
10. Analyze Quality Performance and implement improvements.
11. Investigate nonconformances, perform trend analysis, and identify and implement improvements.
12. Participate in training sessions with process owners and operators.
Experience:
Essential:
* At least 3 years in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing company.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 14001.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of TS16949, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and PPAPs.
* Automotive Quality experience would be an advantage.
* Knowledge of lean principles.
Qualifications:
Essential:
* HNC or equivalent in Mechanical / Production Engineering, Technicians Certificate, or Inspection/Mechanical Apprenticeship.
Desirable:
* A relevant engineering degree (Mechanical or Materials engineering preferred).
