Job Title: Team Leader – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Northampton
Salary: £34,000 – £36,000 per year
Contract: Full-time | Permanent
Start Date: Immediate
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join a children’s residential home in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
As a Team Leader, you will support the management team in leading and motivating residential care staff, ensuring the home provides high-quality, safe, and nurturing care in line with Ofsted standards and Children’s Homes Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and support a team of residential care staff.
* Assist in delivering high-quality care in line with children’s individual care plans.
* Lead by example to ensure positive behaviour management and a safe environment.
* Monitor and contribute to staff performance, development, and training.
* Assist the management team with roster planning, incident reporting, and risk assessments.
* Promote a positive and inclusive home culture for staff and residents.
* Liaise with social workers, families, and external agencies to ensure children’s needs are met.
* Deputise for senior staff when required.
Requirements
* Previous experience working in residential childcare.
* Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role desirable.
* Knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding practices.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (Level 5 desirable).
* A passion for supporting children and young people to thrive.
