We are seeking a registered mental health nurse who possesses recent clinical experience in a community or relevant mental health inpatient setting.
SORT work within the personalised care framework with the move towards goal based, individualised care and interventions. This includes a named key worker for all service users with a clearer multidisciplinary team approach to both assess and meet the needs of service users, to reduce the reliance on services and to increase resilience in systems of care, promote recovery and allowing all staff to make the best use of their skills and qualifications, and drawing on new roles.

Job Description
* Job responsibilities: Provision of caseload supervision for Band 5 mental health practitioners and line management.
* Contribute to professional development, appraisal, performance review and recruitment.
* Responsible for the management of SORT caseloads. Carry out reviews of caseloads and support the process of recovery.
* Promote positive risk to allow clients independence and autonomy of choice.
* Promote recovery and liaise with other community resources to facilitate use of mainstream resources.
* Maintain a caseload of clients with a significant degree of mental health complexity who are difficult to engage in services.
* Participate in the shift lead and provide appropriate supervision.
* Practice within the legal and ethical framework set out by mental health related legislation to ensure that service users\' interests and well-being are at the fore.
* Liaise, advise, develop and maintain good relationships with service users, carers, relatives and fellow health, social care professionals involved in service delivery.
* Participate in activities to keep professional skills updated and disseminate knowledge to staff and students within your area of responsibility.
* Act upon referrals from secondary care, providing assessment, implementation and development of programmes of care to individuals, groups and families.
* Implement and participate in policy and procedure development within the area of responsibility in consultation with relevant others.
* Plan with teaching establishments to provide a realistic learning experience for students and postgraduate students; responsible for quality of the programme.
* Participate in and support training programmes for all staff groups.
* Monitor standards of practice within the team and address deficits through audit.
* Coordinate the collation of evidence within the team to support standards for better health and improved quality.
* Independently assess, implement and develop programmes of care. Prioritise and re-assign team workload and develop a caseload management system.
* Provide supervision and support. Assist the Team Manager in the investigation of complaints regarding the service.
* Identify staff training needs. Make judgements about the quality of the service. Support the team through organizational change and service delivery.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Essential: RMN/Dip HE - NMC Registration
* Essential: Post Graduate Specialist Knowledge and/or experience in Community Mental Health setting
* Desirable: Recovery, CBT, Solution Focus Therapy
* Desirable: Management/coaching qualification; senior level experience including managerial experience, staff supervision and operational issues
Experience
* Essential: 2-years post-registration mental health experience
* Essential: Minimum 12-months experience in community mental health setting, or clear evidence of fulfilling the functions of a community mental health nurse with adults with history of severe and enduring mental illness
* Desirable: Care co-ordination/key worker experience
* Desirable: Case load management
