We are looking for a dynamic Highly Specialist Applied Psychologist to provide leadership and clinical skills as part of Community Transformation. The post holder will work across the Treatment and Intervention Team and The Community Hub delivering effective, safe and compassionate care.
We welcome applications from staff who are nearing the end of their training in Clinical or Counselling Psychology who, on successful completion, will achieve the required qualification and registration with HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will have a key role in providing psychological assessments as well as a therapeutic, consultative and advisory service in relation to adults and their families and carers, according to identified clinical need. In addition to direct clinical work, the role includes providing consultation and, where necessary, clinical supervision to other team members in regard to patients.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical/counselling/forensic psychology (or equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS
* HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Trained in clinical supervision (within agreed timescale)
* Trained in care co-ordination (within agreed timescale)
Desirable
* Registration with BPS
* Post-graduate qualification showing evidence of supervised practice in an evidence-based psychological therapeutic model
Experience
* Essential: Working as a psychologist within the designated service with a wide variety of client groups across the life course and varying clinical severity across care settings
* Working with mental health/learning disability clients (as appropriate to service area)
* Multidisciplinary team working
Desirable
* Experience of joint working with statutory, voluntary and private sector agencies
* Experience of CBT, DBT, Psychodynamics, systematic therapy
* Experience of research and audit
Knowledge / Skills
* Risk assessment and risk management
* Knowledge of legislation related to the client group and mental health
* Ability to communicate highly complex and sensitive information effectively to a wide range of people
