About the Role:
1. We are looking to recruit additional Marriage Officers to complement our team and join our busy and high profile Registration Service for the summer. The duties will include the registration of marriages taking place at the Register Office, hotels and stately homes and occasionally at churches.
2. 20 hours per week (annualised) – various shift patterns to include weekends and bank holidays
6.5 month fixed term contract from 15 April to 31 October 2026

About you:
3. We are looking for exceptional people who can contribute to the future of this very important statutory service. You must have a confident, tactful and sympathetic approach and be able to conduct yourself in a professional manner (both in attitude and appearance) at all times to record a main life event. Your handwriting needs to be neat and legible. In addition, you will be a confident IT user and show the ability to work within a legal framework. A keen attention to detail is also an essential attribute for this important role.
4. Successful candidates will need to be available over a four day shift pattern which will include weekends and bank holidays. Flexibility is key as working patterns are not always predictable and may involve working at short notice.
5. Whilst the post is based at The Register Office, Crewe, the successful candidates will be required to work at locations throughout Cheshire East and therefore unrestricted use of a car is essential.
