Overview
The Post holder undertakes, exceptionally, to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances, e.g., cover "on call" duties. The clinical commitments required will be as detailed in the Weekly Programme of Duties, though service needs may require alteration of the timetable without notice. The appointee will be required to visit any patient in any establishment forming part of the Trust at the request of the Consultant. The appointee will be on a full shift rota and will take part in Internal Cover arrangements during the absence of Registrars and middle grades on annual or study leave.
Responsibilities
* Undertake clinical commitments as detailed in the Weekly Programme of Duties; be prepared for timetable alterations as required by service needs.
* Visit patients in any establishment forming part of the Trust at the request of the Consultant.
* Be on a full shift rota and participate in Internal Cover arrangements during the absence of Registrars and middle grades on annual or study leave.
* Undertake administrative duties commensurate with the post and be responsible for the supervision and support of the Senior House Officers.
* Encourage and undertake research under the supervision of the consultants where appropriate.
* Deputise from time to time for absent colleagues where consistent with proper discharge of duties.
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice.
* Completed foundation training or have equivalent experience.
* Computer literacy and a good standard of written and spoken English are essential.
