We have an exciting opportunity for a Trademark Specialist to join Norgine.
The person holding this position will report to the Director of Trademarks and be a member of the Legal team.
The core responsibility of the Trademark Specialist is to be responsible for implementing corporate strategy for protection, management, development and enforcement of Norgine’s brand-related intellectual property rights, especially trademarks, in order to protect Norgine’s brand assets and ensure freedom to use.
The title can be changed to Trademark Attorney if the candidate is qualified.
This will be a permanent role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Assist the Director of Trademarks in managing all brand-related aspects of Norgine’s business, particularly trademarks, copyright, domain names and related rights, including the protection, enforcement, determination of Norgine’s position versus third party rights, in accordance with Norgine’s trademark policy and practice.
• Advise on trademark aspects of products and product development projects. This includes undertaking and reporting appropriate searches to determine freedom-to-use and/or registrability, filing applications and implementing trademark protection strategy as agreed with Director of Trademarks.
• Handle trade mark prosecution work, including filing trademark applications, dealing with objections from IP Offices and ensuring all relevant data and documents are recorded and uploaded onto the trademark management database (Diams iQ).
• Review, draft and advise on trade mark settlement agreements and make recommendations on trademark aspects of commercial agreements.
• Manage or assist the management of third party trademark disputes.
• Handle parallel import notifications.
• Advise on and monitor the appropriate incorporation of trademarks globally on all new or revised packaging and marketing materials by Norgine or its partner companies.
• Assist in conducting due diligence in relation to business development opportunities and advise on related trademark (and related rights) issues.
• Support the provision of training and education in relation to trademarks.
Requirements
• Demonstrable experience in trademark management, preferably (but not necessarily) a qualified trademark attorney
• Preferably with some prior industry experience
• High levels of organisation, accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with IP Management databases
