GSL Education are hiring a dedicated Sports Coach to work within a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) in Middlesbrough. As a Sports Coach in a PRU, you will use sport and physical activity as powerful tools to re-engage pupils with education, promote positive behaviour, and build confidence and resilience. Prime Responsibilities: Plan and deliver structured, engaging sports sessions tailored to pupils in a PRU setting. Use sport to promote teamwork, self-discipline, and emotional regulation. Support behaviour management strategies in line with school policies. Build positive, professional relationships with pupils who may present challenging behaviour. Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to support pupils’ overall development. Requirements of Sports Coach: Experience working with young people, ideally within alternative provision or similar settings. A calm, patient, and resilient approach. Strong behaviour management and communication skills. Relevant sports coaching qualification or experience. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
