Job Title: Security Agent – British Airways Engineering Base
Location: Heathrow Airport
Hours: 12-hour shifts (Days and Nights – 4 on 4 off)
Reports to: Site Supervisor / Duty Manager
Purpose of the Role:
To provide a high standard of security service at the British Airways Engineering Base, ensuring the safety and protection of all personnel, aircraft, and property within the controlled area. The role requires vigilance, professionalism, and adherence to both Mitie and British Airways security procedures and aviation regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out access control duties, ensuring only authorised personnel and vehicles enter restricted areas.
2. Conduct ID and vehicle checks in line with airport and company procedures.
3. Undertake regular patrols (foot and vehicle) to maintain a visible security presence and deter unauthorised activity.
4. Monitor CCTV systems and report any suspicious activity or breaches immediately to the Supervisor or Control Room.
5. Respond promptly and professionally to all security incidents, alarms, or emergencies in accordance with site procedures.
6. Support aircraft guarding and ensure protection of engineering assets during maintenance periods.
7. Complete clear and accurate incident, patrol, and handover reports.
8. Liaise with British Airways Engineering staff, contractors, and airport authorities in a professional manner.
9. Follow all site safety and security regulations, maintaining situational awareness at all times.
10. Assist with escorting contractors or visitors within restricted zones when required.
11. Ensure compliance with all CAA, DfT, and Mitie policies including confidentiality, data protection, and safety standards.
Skills and Experience Required:
12. Preferred SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervisor essential).
13. Aviation or Airside experience preferred but not essential (training provided).
14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
15. Strong observational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
16. Computer literate (for reports, incident logging, and CCTV systems).
17. Flexible to work 12-hour day and night shifts on a rota basis (including weekends and public holidays).
18. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
19. Full UK driving licence preferred (for vehicle patrol duties).

21. Successful applicants must pass a 5-year background check and CTC (Counter Terrorist Check) prior to deployment.
22. This role involves working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
