The post-holder will work within the Step 2 pathway of Stockport Talking Therapies providing, developing and supporting the provision of high volume, low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based interventions using a guided self help model, to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities. The role will offer the opportunity to develop innovative ways of meeting the needs of the local population with a focus on increasing access to evidence-based group interventions. There will be opportunities to be involved in clinical audit and evaluation. The Senior PWP will be expected to maintain a reduced clinical caseload.
The successful applicant needs to either be registered with the BPS or BABCP.
The role is 30 hours per week. However the working hours may be negotiable up to a maximum of 30 hours.
The post holder will be required to work from base on a regular basis.
Main duties of the job
To provide assessment and treatment of patients with mild to moderate common mental health problems, using low intensity cognitive behavioural interventions.
To further develop the group and workshop offer at Step 2 and ensure that a rolling programme of groups is available.
To provide supervision, guidance, and advice to PWPs and the wider team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* To manage a reduced clinical caseload
• To provide case management supervision, consultation, advice and guidance to PWPs.
• To provide mentorship to trainee PWPs to ensure they are working towards their learning outcomes as specified within the PWP curriculum.
• To provide training/CPD for PWPs on the promotion and delivery of low intensity group interventions
• To continually review group content to ensure that this follows the latest clinical guidance and adheres to evidence-based practice.
• To work closely with the Step 2 manager to ensure that the service delivers a rolling programme of group interventions.
• To help staff understand the KPIs for the service and to support staff to achieve them.
• To work alongside senior colleagues to contribute to the design,
implementation and delivery of expansion and outreach Talking Therapies work (such as within Long Term Conditions) with external organisations.
• To evaluate the effectiveness of group interventions utilising outcome data and patient feedback

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Talking Therapies approved Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner qualification from a recognised educational institution.
* Registered with the BPS or BABCP
Desirable criteria
* A qualification or substantial experience in Professional Supervision
Experience
Essential criteria
* Significant experience of working with people with common mental health problems
* Ability to demonstrate a range of post-qualifying experiences in offering and delivering the range of evidence-based low intensity interventions such as computerised CBT, guided self help and groups
* Demonstratable experience within an NHS Talking Therapies setting
* Experience of routine outcome monitoring and working towards service KPIs
* Experience of delivering training to a range of professionals
* Experience of ‘partnership working’
* Experience of risk assessment and management
* Experience of safeguarding children and adults
* Substantial experience of multidisciplinary teamwork
Desirable criteria
* Experience in drug/alcohol management
* Experience of supervising others within a therapy setting of helping profession such as social work nursing
* Experience of and ability to provide mentor/supervisor role
Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care
* Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health / benefits and employment systems
* Knowledge of child protection issues, safeguarding and other relevant legislation
* Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post

* An awareness of serious mental health presentations (psychosis, bi-polar)
* Evidence of further training in psychological interventions/therapy
