Job Summary
Band 3 Cardiology Administration Assistant with a 37.5 hour work week. Provides administrative support to cardiac specialist nurses, manages patient communications, retrieves and tracks clinical notes, and maintains filing systems. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide secretarial and administrative support to cardiac specialist nurses.
* Respond to calls from patients and relatives.
* Obtain investigation results from the Cardiology department.
* Check all correspondence for urgent matters and respond accordingly.
* Liaise with primary and tertiary care, including other cardiac specialist teams.
* Retrieve notes from medical records and manage tracking using the hospital PAS system.
* Effectively manage filing systems, information retrieval, stock control and order stationery, patient leaflets, etc.
* Attend and participate in departmental planning meetings.

Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs, including English language at grade C or above, or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.
Knowledge and Experience
* Recent administrative or secretarial experience.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Experience using medical databases.
* Experience of a patient administration system.
* Experience working in a healthcare setting.
* Knowledge of PAS‑silverlink.
Skills and Aptitudes
* Good organisational skills.
* Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Appropriate use of initiative.
Other Requirements
* Flexible to the needs of the service.
* Able to work across sites if required.
* Valid driving licence.
