Engineering Shift Manager at Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services
Responsibilities
* Leading the day to day shift teams.
* Ensuring all planned, corrective and reactive work is completed on time.
* Supporting root cause analysis and CAPAs for technical activities.
* Daily attendance at the 0900 / 1630 team activity call.
* Attendance at GSK morning TAP.
* Assigning duties to technicians during shifts.
* Day to day lead of shift team including conduct, performance and capability; taking actions to address any inappropriate behaviour or low standards.
* Holding regular shift team meetings on daily and weekly objectives.
* Providing direction and feedback to technicians during shifts.
* Effective handover with the other shift lead role.
* Participating in work activities, leading by demonstration, and showing them how to do the job effectively where required.
* Assisting in training and coaching new employees.
* Providing customer service and managing complaints.
* Prompt and correct documentation of incidents.
* Ensuring communications are maintained between the technical supervisors & client relating to the progress of work orders.
* Performing duties of a person authorised to issue permits to work.
* Identifying potential training requirements for existing team to ensure statutory requirements are met and efficient working practices are followed.
* Attending and fully participating in training and appraisal activities as required.
* Bringing innovation, building solutions to business challenges and maintaining a ‘can-do' attitude.
* Fostering and maintaining a positive work environment.
Qualifications
* Working well within a team.
* Leadership skills and ability to make decisions fast.
* Strong problem-solving aptitude.
* Able to work without direct supervision.
* Able to deal directly with customers in a professional manner and represent the company.
* Able to complete & produce RAMs.
* Ability to plan/schedule both PPM & Reactive workload.
* Computer literate – competent in Microsoft Office and ability to work on CAFM systems.
* Knowledge of working on BMS systems.
Health And Safety Responsibilities
* Always follow Group and company policies and procedures.
* Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
* Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
* Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.
Information Security
* Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities.
* Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager.
* Report actual and suspected security incidents.
