We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Liverpool, working as a Cover Teacher on an ad‑hoc/casual basis.

Site Information
HMP Liverpool is a Category B Male prison based in Walton, Liverpool. The prison itself has a strong local identity. Upon arrival, large murals illustrate the city and its surroundings. The teams' aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe, and where causes of prison stress are minimised. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
* Hold a teaching qualification and where applicable, relevant subject specialist qualification - with a commitment to obtain the outstanding qualification within 12 months.
* Hold a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
* Have experience creating stimulating, vibrant environments which are conducive to learning and motivational for learners.
* Have a good previous track record of achieving quality targets.
* Have willingness to engage with and produce accurate and timely reports.
* Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.
* Have an ability to motivate and enthuse learners in the subject matter(s).
* Demonstrate good organisational skills and adaptability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines/targets.
* Be adaptable and demonstrate knowledge in chosen subject area(s).
* Advocate for and engage consistently in positive team working.
