Reporting into the Head of Application Development, this role owns the end-to-end delivery of the Workday transformation. The implementation will digitally transform Finance, Procurement and HR, delivering process efficiency, creating one source of truth for reporting, and decommissioning existing, disparate corporate systems. This role manages a complex, multi-workstream transformation and delivers through an effective governance and delivery structure, creating business value and establishing a sustainable Workday operating model to support the FA for years to come. This role requires strong stakeholder relations with the CIO, Finance Director and Finance, HR and Technology Leadership teams.


What will you be doing?

* Programme Management: Manages the holistic Workday programme of work combining Business and Digital Technology workstreams.
* Ensures the objectives of the Business & Digital Technology stakeholders are met.
* Creates an effective delivery structure with the FA Implementation Partner, providing aligned planning, tracking, risk management, and reporting.
* Coordinates activities across Change, Process, Data, Integration, and Testing Workstreams.
* Coordinates with Digital Technology pods and practices as required.
* Coordinates with Third Party Vendors including the SI partner, Cognizant and other third parties (integrations) as required.
* Identifies and mitigates blockers, risks and issues, owning resolution of the most complex items on the programme.
* Influences prioritisation against overall business value.


Governance

* Define and run an effective Governance Structure for the Workday implementation driving programme controls, reporting and decision making.
* Establish a Business Design Authority to ensure:
o Workday best practice processes are adopted and aligned to design principles and business outcomes.
o Process owners and Data Owners are identified with defined accountabilities.
o Post go-live, it becomes part of the Workday BAU operating model.
* Adhere to the FA Delivery Framework, including architectural standards, policy, and governance artefacts (e.g., Solution Architectural Definition).
* Obtain required approvals at the FA's Digital Technology control boards (e.g., ACB, CAB).
* Establish a System Administration service for security and change control with required standards of segregation of duties and audit logs.
* Run Steering Groups and Decision Groups on an agreed cadence.
* Provide timely updates for the CFO, CIO, Deputy CEO and wider leadership team on status and risk.
* Attend the Digital Technology Quarterly Performance Review (QPR) with objective reporting of delivery status and performance metrics.


Risk & Budget Management

* Oversee the Workday implementation budget, ensuring accurate financial discipline and forecasting.
* Own and manage the Workday RAID log, reporting into the Programme Governance Structure and the Digital Technology risk management framework.
* Execute additional tasks as required to meet changing priorities.
* Comply with all company policies to maintain highest standards of health, safety, and well-being.
* DBS check requirement will be in line with activity of the role and in accordance with legislation and government guidance.


What are we looking for?

Essential for the role:

* Significant track record of successful Workday or equivalent ERP implementation for Finance and HR
* Agile IT project/programme management experience
* Experience using JIRA/Confluence
* Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams without line-management responsibilities
* Strong senior stakeholder management and ability to influence
* Strong collaboration experience
* Experience delivering with and managing third party vendors
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Good interpersonal and leadership skills
* Effective presentation skills

Beneficial to have:

* Finance qualification/experience
* A recognised Programme/Project Management accreditation
* Scrum Master certification
* Agile Project Manager Practitioner
* Experience of working in elite sports and/or event environment
* Experience/knowledge of football at any level
