Responsibilities
* Provide patient/family-centered care as a partner and adviser to support optimal health outcomes.
* Apply critical reasoning and clinical judgment to expedite appropriate care, especially for complex or potentially life-threatening conditions.
* Use clinical problemsolving within the scope of practice, knowledge, competency, and experience.
* Assist medical staff with preparation, examination, and procedures; interview/screen patients to obtain data and chief complaints; document per policy; monitor vital signs.
* Perform telephone and in-person screenings and document findings relevant to the patients health care status or plan of care.
* Prioritize and document incoming calls regarding medications and medical conditions; review with the provider for orders or changes as needed.
* Clean and stock examination rooms and related supply areas; document all patient care in the medical record according to policy.
PRN Status
This is a PRN (as-needed) position. You must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed per departmental demands. Additional hours may be required by your supervisor. Work hours may vary depending on unit needs.
Education and Licensure
* Education: Graduate from a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program.
* Licensure/Certification: Licensed as an LPN in the state of South Carolina or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required. Some positions may require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and NIHSS Stroke Scale Certification.
