We have an exciting opportunity for a Nursing Assistant within Child & Adolescent Mental Health at Ty Llidiard, a 15-bedded tier 4 General Adolescent Mental Health Unit with a high care ward serving South Wales. The unit has a full multi-disciplinary team and works with young people aged 12 to 18 who live in South, Mid and West Wales and are experiencing psychiatric disorders such as anorexia nervosa, clinical depression, self-harming behaviours and early onset psychosis. The successful applicant will work as part of a large multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of care and treatment for children and young people.
Our vision and strategy are based around 4 C’s – Caring, Compassionate, Calm and Confident. The post holder will be required to provide social, psychological and practical support to young people with mental health needs.
Responsibilities
* Assist the qualified nurse in providing individual care and treatment to patients and their families in a variety of settings, including the community.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience and qualifications relevant to the role.
* Desire to work with young people and their families. A caring nature and dedication to spending time with young people, especially during distress.
* Enthusiasm for team working and the ability to receive instruction while working closely with qualified nursing staff to provide safe and effective care.
Welsh Language
* Welsh Skills Desirable: Level 3 speaking and listening (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Not essential; advantageous when short-listing and selecting candidates.
