Overview
Our residents are at the heart of everything we do at the Meath Epilepsy Charity. With person‑centered planning, we ensure that everyone focuses on meeting their goals and maintaining independence as much as possible.
This role is based in Godalming, Surrey, and is full time (38 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities
* Provide direct care for all aspects of the residents' assessed needs in line with their care plans.
* Assist the manager with team management and organise the team in their absence.
* Supervise and manage support workers and bank staff, including appraisals, supervisions and induction where appropriate.
* Support senior staff and assistance in implementing management decisions.
* Follow all policies and procedures.
* Assist residents with personal care, mobility, feeding and meal preparation when required.
* Administer and store prescribed medication in line with legislation.
* Communicate and convey relevant information about residents to team members for regular care plan updates.
* Report immediately to senior staff any accident or untoward incident involving residents, staff or visitors.
* Follow safeguarding procedures and handle medication appropriately.
* Attend 1:1 supervision meetings with line manager every six weeks.
* Follow any reasonable instructions from line manager or senior manager.
* Be conversant with and implement Meath policies and procedures.
Other tasks may be required for proper performance of the job.
Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications
* Excellent communication skills with the general public, trustees, professional bodies and other parties on behalf of The Meath, both written and verbal.
* Working knowledge of Word, Excel and other operating systems.
* Take responsibility, work well independently and as part of a team, be flexible, reliable, punctual and maintain confidentiality.
Essential Skills
* Team player with excellent communication skills.
* Previous care work experience.
* Willingness to attend training to maintain high operational and safety standards.
Desirable Skills
* Understanding of CQC requirements.
* Relevant Health and Social Care qualification or willingness to work towards one (NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care preferred).
* Two years in supervisory care.
