Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the development of security-focused architectures for complex engineering solutions, ensuring design consistency and adherence to standards across projects.
* Establish policies and practices for selecting security architecture components.
* Specify security controls, standards, and technologies within the engineering domain.
* Create security-focused design policies covering connectivity, resilience, recovery, and access.
* Provide expert advice on engineering security activities, including incident response.
* Develop secure architecture patterns for emerging technologies, ensuring safety, integrity, and availability.
* Act as a primary contact for senior stakeholders regarding cyber security architecture.
* Manage security risks by recommending architectural changes to mitigate threats.
* Stay informed about external security trends and incorporate this knowledge into your work.
* Coordinate the implementation of security controls and services in collaboration with management and strategy teams.
* Ensure compliance with internal standards and industry frameworks.
* Plan and execute security architectural activities aligned with organizational needs and regulatory requirements.
* Report on cyber security metrics and KPIs across the engineering domain.
* Develop policies and processes for continuous service improvement.
* Maintain strong relationships with key business contacts.

Leadership Responsibilities:

* Build and maintain relationships with business leaders and stakeholders.
* Ensure health and safety compliance within your team.
* Align security architecture strategies with business objectives.
* Influence organizational, customer, supplier, and partner security practices.
* Apply and uphold security standards within your responsibility area.
* Lead work groups, plan resources, and resolve complex issues independently.
* Support the development of future security capabilities.
* Engage regularly with senior stakeholders and provide authoritative guidance.

Requirements:

* Understanding of emerging cyber requirements and threats.
* Broad technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, with expertise in Operational Technology and engineering systems.
* Good knowledge of government and industry security policies, standards, and best practices.
* Experience in IT functions and relevant fields.
* Proven ability to define and implement secure architectures.
* Experience designing secure solutions with safety considerations.
* Management of key cyber security projects.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders.
* Experience managing project deliverables and reporting to senior management.
* People management experience.

Desirable:

* Professional IT Security qualifications such as CISM or CISSP.
* Architecture qualifications like TOGAF, MODAF, or DoDAF.
* Chartered Engineer status (CEng).
