Job overview
This is a locum consultant post. We are seeking a colleague with Paediatric ED expertise to work in our Paediatric ED as well as in the main ED Consultant rota. The remit of the post holder will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for patients attending the Emergency Department at Denmark Hill. The individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the department while having a significant commitment to teaching and training of junior staff.
Main duties of the job
The post will be based at Denmark Hill with a proposed 10 PA Job Plan, which will be reviewed within 3 months of starting. The out-of-hours commitment is 1:9 for the ED rota, including late shifts and weekends, with a 1:23 on-call schedule, categorized as Category A. Routine work on weekends may be required as part of the total job plan.
While there are no specific leadership roles associated with this position, the overall managerial portfolio of the team is regularly reviewed, and successful applicants may be invited to apply for additional roles within the consultant team.
