Hold a UK Driving Licence (Manual & Automatic) with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience and have no more than 3 points on your licence. We are looking for a confident Driver & Support Worker with a passion for delivering outstanding care. You’ll be working 42 hours a week in a Neuropsychiatric and Neurodegenerative rehabilitation setting at Cygnet Heathers. Hours – Working 12-hour shifts on days only from 08:00 to 20:00, including weekends.
Cygnet Heathers is a 20-bed service providing neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative rehabilitation for men with mental health difficulties and acquired brain injury. Our focus is on creating an environment that engages our service users and supports recovery, with an all-integrated physical environment to aid neurobehavioural rehabilitation and to help manage visual, spatial and perceptual difficulties.
Responsibilities
* Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all the people in our care
* Provide guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support
* Learn about individuals’ specific needs & provide help in the most appropriate way
* Assist with medical & welfare needs
* Report on medical & welfare needs as required
* Safeguard
* Maintain a safe, clean environment for all
Driver Responsibilities
* Competently drive wheelchair accessible vehicles, transporting individuals in our care safely and efficiently
* Ensure wheelchairs are securely clamped and seatbelts used by all passengers
* Communicate with passengers professionally and sensitively
* Be the driver for local and day trips and assist colleagues/individuals as needed
* Assist passengers in entering and leaving the vehicles safely
* Work flexibly to meet the needs of the individual in our care and unit
* Undertake tasks within the unit as delegated by the unit manager
* Maintain confidentiality at all times
