Learning Support Assistant - Sports-Focused Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have a background in sports or coaching and a desire to help students succeed outside of mainstream education?
We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join an Alternative Provision School in Liverpool, working 1:1 with secondary students who face challenges in traditional school settings. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your love of sport to inspire, engage, and support students who need it most.
* Provide individual support to secondary-aged students to help them overcome barriers to learning.
* Use sports-particularly football and other physical activities-as a means of building rapport and increasing student engagement.
* Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), such as ADHD, using strategies tailored to their individual needs.
* Encourage academic, social, and emotional development through daily guidance and mentoring.
* Help foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.
* Background in sports coaching or a strong passion for sport, with the ability to use it as a tool for engagement and personal development.
* Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour and SEN, particularly ADHD.
* Creative, adaptable, and proactive in developing positive strategies for behaviour and learning.
* Committed to building strong, supportive relationships with students.
* Previous experience in alternative provision, SEN environments, or working with disengaged youth is highly desirable.
* Experience in educational or youth work settings, especially with students excluded or struggling in mainstream education.
* Knowledge of behavioural support techniques and SEN.
* Patience, resilience, and a genuine desire to help young people thrive.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
