The Role: Full-time permanent:
We are looking to recruit a Workshop Technician at our Leeds Depot to maintain our vehicles and machines in operation. If you're passionate about hands-on technical work, and eager to grow in a supportive environment apply now. Are you an individual with a passion for what you do.
About You:
You have the ability to servicing and repair all types of horticultural/ground-care equipment, and enjoy fault finding and diagnostic work. You will be required to attend various sites for breakdowns and will have welding/fabrication skills and the ability to work on petrol & diesel engines as well as hydraulic systems.
Your Skills:
You will have a full clean driving licence. Previous service and maintenance experience preferred with vehicles/plant/horticultural machinery. Energetic, driven and hardworking. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the team. You will be a self-starter and team player able to work to tight deadlines with the ability to work alone when required
Tasks: To assist the senior workshop technician in carrying out their duties of the day to day running of the workshop, which will involve some great housekeeping. You will respond to daily issues raised by colleagues as they complete the daily and weekly safety inspections of their plant, machinery and vehicles including "in the field" breakdown support. You will also undertake random inspections of vehicles and equipment. You will also have the ability to conduct in-house training to support knowledge share.
Qualifications:
* Servicing and repairing all horticultural equipment: 1 year (preferred)
* Welding/fabrication: 1 year (Licence/Certification (preferred)
* Abrasive Wheel (preferred) Licence/Certification (preferred)
* Driving Licence (required) + trailer (preferred)
Benefits:
* Annualised hours; 42.5 per week 26 weeks through summer 37.5 per week 26 weeks over the winter; average 40hr week
