Job summary
Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust's Temporary Worker Service (TWS) is looking to recruit Registered Nurses (General) and Registered Nursing Associates within all localities in the trust. We require Adult (General) Nurses to work in our Inpatient units and within our community teams. The Trust also has an Out of Hours night service which require Staff Nurses.
You must have a current NMC registration and a minimum of 6 months experience post registration.
You will be caring, compassionate, motivated and enthusiastic, as well as having a keen interest in patient care and possess good communication skills. We require individuals who are forward thinking, well organised with a positive attitude towards flexibility.

Main duties of the job
Community Role - To contribute in the delivery of high standards of health care to patients within their own homes, care homes, the travelling community and/or in clinics, by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating packages of care.
Inpatient Role - Responsible for the delivery of care and the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual plans of care, working effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary team, maintain high standards of patient care under the direction of a Senior Nurse and work in accordance with the standards set by the Nursing/Midwifery Professional Bodies and Trust Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.

1. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of patient care using clinical reasoning skills.
2. Assess patients holistic needs, communicating complex and sensitive information to patients and/or carers as to their assessment and treatment plan.
3. To be sensitive to patient needs in respect of courtesy, dignity and privacy.
4. Provide information and education, which enables patients to make choices about adopting a healthier lifestyle (in an appropriate manner to meet patients learning needs).
5. Where there are barriers to understanding, such as hearing impairment, mental capacity impairment and other difficulties in comprehension, explanations require adjustments in order to gain understanding, consent and concordance.
6. Liaise with GPs, Social Services, inpatient teams, community teams, other allied health care professionals and the voluntary sector to ensure identified needs are met and care co-ordinated appropriately.
7. Ensure own workload is planned and prioritised according to service targets and patient need.
8. Ensure informed consent is obtained prior to initiating interventions.
9. Recommend innovative changes in clinical practice, to enhance patient care.
10. Ensure the safe control and custody of drugs within the workplace in line with Trust policy.
11. Ensure that all patient care is documented accurately and legible and that information systems are maintain in a timely manner inputting to SystmOne on a daily basis.
