Role description:
The expansion Arcadis' Field Services into a new operational hub in Brockworth, near Gloucester, has led to the need to appoint a Drilling Contracts Manager to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the drilling manager, this role will support our delivery of projects across the UK, servicing our diverse range of clients and sectors.
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented professional to oversee the coordination, execution, and compliance of drilling activities delivered by our internal drilling teams. Serving as the primary liaison between field crews, subcontractors, and project teams, you will ensure all contractual commitments are fulfilled and projects are delivered both efficiently and to the highest safety, environmental and technical standards from start to finish.
Whilst experience in the role is preferable, the role would equally suit an experienced senior driller or ground investigation specialist who is looking to take their knowledge into an oversight and training function.
The role is based on a basic 37.5-hour week and with the need to cover site hours as necessary.
The responsibilities of this role are varied and will continue to evolve as our team and service offering grows. Key day-to-day duties include, but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities
* Contract Oversight: In collaboration with our project managers, manage and monitor drilling contract execution, ensuring compliance with scope, budget, and timelines.
* Task Coordination: Coordinating with our project and resource planners, effective scheduling and coordination of field service activities, resources, and subcontractors as necessary.
* Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the main contact for project managers, suppliers, and internal teams regarding contract-related matters.
* Documentation: Oversee production of accurate drilling records are produce project specific documentation such as RAMS.
* Risk & Compliance: Identify risks, enforce safety standards, and ensure all works adhere to relevant regulations and company policies.
* Continuous Improvement: Recommend process improvements to optimize contract delivery and field operations.
* Line management: Line management of up to 8 staff within the wider team.
* Occasional Site Cover: On occasion, you may be required to support the drill teams in the field during periods of sickness or unforeseen absence. However, these instances are expected to be infrequent and will be based on applicants knowledge and experience.
Secondary responsibilities working alongside the drilling manager:
* PUWER & LOLER Compliance: Ensure all equipment is suitable for use, properly maintained, and compliant with PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations) and LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations).
* Tachograph Management: Oversee tachograph requirements and usage for all relevant vehicles and drivers, ensuring legal compliance with driver hours and record-keeping.
* Safety Assurance: Support enforcement of all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, conducting regular internal audits and checks as required.
* Training, Quality & Support: Liaise with teams to provide or arrange training on equipment use, safety standards, and regulatory updates.
* Supply Chain Management – in support of our internal drilling capability and our wider ground investigation services you will be expected to support project teams with the assessment of, and interaction with, our approved suppliers to ensure the highest standards are achieved.
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in drilling operations, and contract management.
* Wider experience with remediation systems and ground investigation coordination preferable, but not essential.
* Working knowledge of PUWER and LOLER regulations, and tachograph legal requirements to ensure regulatory and legislative compliance.
* Strong organizational and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple contracts and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in project management and office software
* Full [ UK Driving license – Category C would be beneficial
