Job Description
We are recruiting for a Trainee Accountant to join our team in Exeter!
This role offers a great start in accountancy, supporting a practice with a long history of training successful accountants. You will assist managers and senior staff in delivering a range of accountancy services to clients. We will support your development as you progress through ACCA/ACA qualifications.
Role & Responsibilities
* Preparing annual accounts for small companies, sole traders, and partnerships
* Quarterly bookkeeping, including VAT return preparation
* Assisting with administrative tasks
* Contacting HMRC as needed
* Preparing basic Tax Returns
* Conducting bookkeeping for various business structures
* Gaining experience with company secretarial services
* Assuming increasing responsibilities and deepening technical knowledge
* Ensuring accurate and timely timesheet completion
* Supporting the team with administrative and basic accounts tasks
* Understanding the business and accountancy practice operations
* Maintaining an up-to-date training file
Desired Skills
* Ability to demonstrate initiative and teamwork
* Building good client relationships
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Analytical skills and high-quality task execution
Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs grades 4-9 (A-C), including Maths and English
* Relevant A Levels or a University Degree
* A desire to complete ACCA/ACA
