Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality legal services across two councils, focusing on commercial property
* Advise officers and members on landlord and tenant matters, acquisitions, disposals, and general property matters
* Draft and negotiate complex property agreements and documentation
* Support major regeneration and development projects
* Prepare and advise on reports for Cabinet, Committees, and senior officers
* Promote legal compliance and good governance in property transactions
* Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective operation of Legal Services
Qualifications
* Qualified legal professional (LPC, ILEX or equivalent) with a degree
* Substantial experience in commercial property law, especially landlord and tenant matters
* Additional experience in litigation or planning law is desirable
* Strong drafting and negotiation skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Proactive team player who takes initiative and responsibility
