About the Role
This is a great opportunity to join the Group Internal Audit (GIA) team of one of the largest Building Societies in the UK on a permanent basis. The Senior Specialist Auditor – Prudential and Financial Risk role will focus on Prudential and Financial Risk, working on a varied portfolio of audit assignments across the Skipton Building Society (SBS) Group.

Team and Responsibilities
You will join the Prudential and Financial Risk team within GIA, working closely with other auditors, senior management, and stakeholders across the SBS Group and its subsidiaries, including the Connells Group. Your key responsibilities include:
1. Leading and supporting audit assignments focused on Prudential and Financial Risks.
2. Assessing the effectiveness of systems and controls, and providing impactful audit reports.
3. Developing strong relationships with stakeholders, especially in Group Finance and Group Risk.
4. Mentoring and supporting other team members.
5. Monitoring risk data, indicators, and regulations related to Prudential and Financial Risks.
6. Contributing to continuous improvement within GIA.

Candidate Profile
We seek a candidate with:
* Strong relationship-building skills and attention to detail.
* Experience in a Prudential and Financial risk environment, preferably within financial services or banking.
* Qualifications such as a qualified accountant or similar.
* Ability to lead complex audit assignments and work independently.
* Knowledge of Capital Management, Liquidity, Model Risk Management, and related areas.
Working Practices
We support hybrid working with at least one day in the office per week, and occasional travel when required (up to 20% of the time).
