The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Ledger Assistant to join their finance team in Glasgow. This is a key role supporting the Financial Controller in managing customer invoicing, cash allocation and credit control to ensure a healthy cash flow and accurate financial records.
The ideal candidate will be experienced, meticulous and driven to deliver high‑quality work. You’ll take ownership of your responsibilities, work systematically and communicate confidently with colleagues and clients alike.
Key Responsibilities
* Raise and issue accurate, timely sales invoices.
* Reconcile accounts receivable transactions and maintain up‑to‑date debtor records.
* Allocate cash receipts and monitor overdue accounts, following up where necessary.
* Liaise with Account Managers to ensure invoicing reflects completed work and month‑end checks.
* Produce debtor reports and provide insights for management review.
* Resolve invoicing and payment queries promptly and professionally.
* Raise sales and credit notes, with exposure to CIS valuations.
* Support the wider finance team with ad‑hoc administrative and reporting tasks.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in accounts receivable, sales ledger or credit control.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing.
* Confident communicator with both internal stakeholders and customers.
* Experience using Xero (including Xero Go), with the ability to support configuration if needed.
* Skilled at prioritising and managing your own workload.
* Understanding of the construction industry and consolidated invoicing is advantageous.
