Manufacturing Engineer – Advanced Materials

Salary: £50,000 + 10% Bonus
25 Days + Bank Holidays

Our client is a global manufacturer specialising in advanced engineered materials used in high-performance and highly regulated industries. Their products are designed to operate in extreme environments, including high temperature, vacuum, and electrically sensitive applications.
With a long-standing history and a strong global presence, the business has maintained a significant UK manufacturing footprint, offering a stable and secure working environment. They are currently investing in their Rugby site, including the relocation of manufacturing processes from Europe to support future growth.

The Role:
This is a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering role, supporting both day-to-day production and longer-term strategic projects.
You will play a key role in improving manufacturing processes, resolving technical issues on the shopfloor, and supporting the transfer of production into the UK. In addition, you will work closely with commercial teams to assess the feasibility and profitability of new projects before they are brought into production.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role combining technical problem solving, process improvement, and commercial input.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Supporting production teams with technical issues affecting quality and output
Carrying out root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
Improving manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, yield, and consistency
Supporting the transfer of manufacturing processes from overseas into the UK
Creating and maintaining:
Routings
SOPs and work instructions
Engineering documentation and BOMs
Assessing new project opportunities:
Manufacturing feasibility
Cost and profitability
Capacity and resource planning
Liaising with shopfloor, quality, and commercial teams
Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineer role
Engineering qualification (HNC or above)
Strong hands-on understanding of manufacturing processes
Experience working closely with production teams
Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally
Desirable:
Experience with ceramics, advanced materials, or similar
Knowledge of brazing, metallising, or batch manufacturing
Lean / continuous improvement experience
Exposure to manufacturing transfers or NPI
