Description internal LI-DNI Please note this vacancy is only available to Birmingham City Council employees. Child Employment & Licensing Coordinator Grade 4 - £34,434-£41,771. Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity review 6 month secondment, Working 36.5 hours per week. The role is hybrid however the post holder would be required to work from Birmingham City Council buildings as business needs dictate. Birmingham City Council is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Children and Families Directorate as Child Employment and Entertainment Licensing Officers. In this vital role, you will be part of a dynamic team working to ensure that children engaged in employment and performances are safe and free from exploitation. If you have a strong background in working with schools, agencies, and employers, and a commitment to safeguarding, we want to hear from you! As a Child Employment and Entertainment Licensing Officer, you will play a crucial role in raising awareness and enforcing legislation regarding child employment and performance licensing. You will advise employers, respond to enquiries, and ensure that licences for child performances and chaperones are issued within the required timeframe. Your responsibilities will include conducting supervision visits, inspecting accommodation for children in entertainment, and providing information sessions about child employment and licensing. Your efforts will help maintain high standards of practice and ensure the safety and well-being of children in our community. We are looking for candidates with a Level 4 qualification or equivalent, and experience working with schools, educational settings, agencies, employers, and families. You should have strong administrative skills, the ability to work on your own initiative, and effective time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will be drafting reports, delivering presentations, and liaising with a wide range of stakeholders. A thorough knowledge of child employment legislation and a commitment to professional development are also key requirements for this role.
