Senior Child Employment and Entertainment Officer

Salary: £43,711 to £48,227 per annum

An opportunity to be part of an innovative team that makes a difference to the education and safeguarding of children in Norfolk. In this role you will lead a team responsible for regulating activity and providing support so that children are safeguarded when participating in employment and entertainment activities and their education is not negatively impacted.
Responsibilities
* Lead the Local Authority in discharging statutory duties related to child employment and licensing of children who take part in performances.
* Oversee and manage procedures for issuing work permits, Child Performance Licences and Chaperone Licences, ensuring processes are efficient and compliant with regulatory and legislative requirements.
* Promote awareness of legislation and regulations to a range of stakeholders, including employers, the entertainment industry, parents, schools and children.
* Investigate complaints and reports of illegal or unsafe practice in this area, and instigate legal proceedings where required.
Qualifications & Skills
* Enthusiastic and well‑organised manager with experience delivering regulatory functions.
* High level of accuracy and strong IT skills.
* Excellent communication skills and initiative.
* Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders.
* Capability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads efficiently.
