Job Title: Lecturer in Welding
Location: North Yorkshire (commutable to Middlesbrough) — permanent full‑time role
Salary: £29,565–£43,562 per annum
About the Role
We are working with a highly regarded, Ofsted‑rated college in North Yorkshire to recruit a passionate and experienced Welding Lecturer. In this vital role, you will:
Develop learners’ proficiency in MIG, TIG and arc welding, metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and equipment maintenance
Deliver both practical hands‑on welding sessions and theory-based lessons, including health & safety, welding principles, and fabrication standards
Provide clear, realistic workplace‑focused training to prepare students for real-world welding and fabrication environments
Manage high-quality instruction, assessment, and progress tracking to help learners achieve their qualifications and their professional goals
Support students’ understanding of safety standards, professional practice, and industry expectations to prepare them for a career in welding and fabrication What We’re Looking For
A recognised welding qualification, Level 3 welding at minimum
Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
Practical welding and fabrication experience (MIG, TIG, arc welding, metal fabrication, blueprint reading, maintenance)
Strong communication and teaching skills — capable of delivering practical sessions and theoretical instruction clearly and safely
A commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment that encourages progression and success Prior experience in a teaching or training role within further education, apprenticeships or vocational training is highly desirable, but we are open to skilled welders with the right qualifications and passion for teaching.
