Are you passionate about improving road safety and creating safer environments for all road users? Aberdeenshire Council is seeking enthusiastic candidates who already have some experience in highway engineering or collision investigation and who have an interest in road safety.
\n
The Road Safety Engineer is a specialised role within the Strategy Team, and you will be expected to develop your expertise in road safety engineering within the role.
\n
About the Role:
\n
You will be a Road Safety Engineer in the Road Safety team. You will undertake duties assisting in the day-to-day delivery of and development of policies for road safety measures to ensure Aberdeenshire Council’s statutory and legislative obligations regarding road safety are met. This includes the implementation of the Aberdeenshire Council Road Safety Plan including the Safe Systems approach to Road Safety and working with partners in the Road Safety Partnership.

As a Road Safety Engineer, you will play a key role in assessing and enhancing road safety across Aberdeenshire Council’s network. You will be responsible for:

* Conducting collision data analysis to identify high-risk areas.
\n
* Designing and implementing road safety improvement schemes.
\n
* Developing strategies to reduce accidents and improve pedestrian and cyclist safety.
\n
* Collaborating with internal teams, external agencies, and community stakeholders.
\n
* Providing technical expertise on road safety audits and engineering interventions.
\n
\n
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
\n
