Hours: Monday-Friday, 09:00-16:00
Rate: £12.21 per hour
Essential: Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence

Role Overview
As a Security Officer at Derby Magistrates Court, you will help protect staff, visitors, and assets by following the site's Assignment Instructions and maintaining a strong, visible security presence. Youll ensure the smooth running of security operations, deliver excellent service, and support contract performance through accountability and high standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Duties
* Follow all site Assignment Instructions and stay up to date with any changes
* Maintain compliance with all policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements
* Suggest improvements where you see opportunities to enhance service
* Ensure all required licences (SIA Door Supervisor essential; CCTV PSS desirable) are valid and worn while on duty
* Work methodically, follow procedures, and maintain a professional approach at all times
Training & Development
* Complete all mandatory competency training
* Embrace ongoing learning to support professional growth
* Use on-site technology effectively and keep knowledge current
* Ensure your licence is renewed at least 16 weeks before expiry
Security & Health & Safety
* Stay alert to safety risks and report hazards immediately
* Respond appropriately to threats or changes in the environment
* Handle challenging situations with calm professionalism
* Record detailed and accurate reports after incidents
* Complete scheduled check calls as required and follow emergency procedures
What We're Looking For
* Previous security experience
* Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence
* CCTV PSS licence desirable
* SC Clearance desirable
* A professional, proactive, and reliable approach
