Job Summary
We invite applications for the Matron for Neonatal Services at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. Join our neonatal unit and community outreach team at Frimley Park Hospital to provide high‑quality neonatal care and continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical and managerial responsibility for the defined neonatal portfolio.
* Lead the Neonatal Unit and community/outreach team, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources to deliver safe and effective neonatal care.
* Drive improvement in patient safety, patient experience, user engagement/participation and clinical outcomes.
* Collaborate with the Head of Nursing on the delivery of high‑quality services, service pressures management, staff support, and professional guidance.
* Support the development of flexible working arrangements and a healthy work‑life balance for staff.
* Champion evidence‑based practice, audit and research initiatives within the neonatal service.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Nurse.
* Master’s degree or equivalent level of study/experience.
* Specialist qualification in neonatal care (QIS).
* Recognised leadership and development training.
* Significant experience at senior clinical/managerial level in neonatal nursing.
Skills & Knowledge
* Understanding of clinical governance and shared governance, including evidence‑based practice.
* Knowledge of risk management, NHS performance targets and health economy.
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload, work independently and within a team.
* Effective communication with all stakeholders.
* Experience in budgetary management and financial accountability.
* IT literacy (common software packages).
* Leadership to empower others and drive innovative practice and service development.
* Clinical supervision experience and project/committee involvement.
* Positive relationships with colleagues and cross‑functional collaboration.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience leading patient involvement/feedback initiatives.
* Teaching and assessment skills.
* Counselling skills.
* Research, audit or project experience.
