We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a Young Persons Outreach and Engagement Worker - Vaping to join our team. This role focuses on supporting young people and promoting healthier choices by working across Nottingham schools and alternative provisions.
You’ll engage with students and staff to raise awareness about the risks of vaping and nicotine-based products, deliver interactive sessions, and create safe spaces for open conversations. Your work will empower young people to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week
Full Time Salary Range: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35
Contract Type: Fixed Term until 29th Feb 2028
Responsibilities
Are you passionate about supporting young people and promoting healthier choices? We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Vaping Outreach and Engagement Worker to join our team.
In this role, you’ll work across Nottingham schools and alternative provisions, engaging with students and staff to raise awareness about the risks of vaping and nicotine-based products. You’ll deliver interactive sessions, create safe spaces for open conversations, and help young people make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.
What you’ll do:
1. Building and maintaining positive working relationships with Schools and key community partners/stakeholders.
2. Engaging with young people and young adults in a way that is meaningful & impactful in a short space of time
3. Researching and consulting with young people/young adults to identify relevant approaches to outreach and best practice.
4. Facilitating evidence-based outreach activities with young people & young adults, to a high standard of delivery, including drop-ins and stalls.
5. Work closely with key services to identify and deliver outreach focused community engagement events.
6. Provide non-judgmental, confidential information about vaping harms.
7. Promote our service and signpost young people to further support.
8. Collaborate with schools and partners to strengthen prevention pathways.
What we’re looking for:
9. Considerable knowledge & experience of working with young people and/or young adults.
10. A friendly, approachable communicator who enjoys working with young people.
11. Experience of working within a community service setting - ., youth work, drug &alcohol,mental health, sexual health, community safety, etc
12. Ability to effectively facilitate/deliver community-based outreach - considering challenging behaviour & personal safety.
13. Ability to build trust and create positive relationships in educational settings.
14. Passion for harm reduction and community engagement.
15. Commitment to young people and an understanding of the factors affecting their lives
