We have recently relocated to new premises on Birchwood Boulevard, conveniently located close to Birchwood Station for train connections to Manchester, Liverpool and Warrington, and with excellent transport links to all major motorways (M62, M6, M60 and M56) — making us easily accessible for both office and hybrid working.
Due to continued growth and new contract wins, we are expanding our Accounts team and are now seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join us.

Key Responsibilities
* Processing invoices: Managing and recording supplier and customer invoices.
* Reconciliation: Balancing accounts by reconciling bank statements and financial transactions.
* Expense claims: Processing employee expense claims and ensuring compliance with company policies.
* Credit control: Assisting with managing outstanding payments and debt collection.
* Making daily payments: Processing payments to suppliers and other creditors, ensuring timely and accurate transfers.
* VAT returns: Assisting in preparing VAT returns and other tax documentation.
* Supporting the Financial Controller: Providing administrative and financial support, including helping with audits, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting tasks.
Person Specification
* Experience in an accounts assistant or similar finance role.
* Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks).
* Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, credit control, and payroll processing.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an excellent telephone manner.
* Highly organised with strong multi-tasking skills and ability to work under strict deadlines.
* A proactive, methodical, and self-motivated approach to work.
* Accuracy and attention to detail, comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
* Flexible approach to work, especially during peak periods.
* Strong commercial awareness with a confident and determined attitude.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Must be able to commute to Birchwood, Warrington.
* AAT qualification (or working towards it) or equivalent finance/accounting qualifications.
