I am the wife of a 73‑year‑old gentleman with health and mobility issues. I am looking for a break in my caring role, preferably twice a week, but this can be discussed at interview. Support with social activities and general tasks.
About the Client
Mobility / Physical: The client uses a rollator for short distances and a wheelchair for longer distances and when outdoors.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Support and/or prompt the client to access sporting and leisure activities.
* Assist and encourage socialisation and participation in activities.
* Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
* Develop a good and trusting one‑to‑one working relationship.
* To go shopping and to local cafés, and to visit relatives and friends.
* Task may vary from day to day and may require other duties as reasonably required.
* Report all accidents and hazards to the employer immediately and ensure the safety of the client at all times.
Transportation Requirement
Car driver and car owner required – must have business insurance. The car boot must be big enough to fit a wheelchair and/or a rollator.
Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).
Required Candidate Criteria
Male Personal Assistant (PA).

* Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy, including the prohibited use of social media in relation to the job role.
* Work on own initiative.
* Be patient, supportive and caring.
* Good listening skills and provide non‑judgemental emotional support.
* Be empathetic.
* Previous caring experience not essential, but a genuine interest in supporting people with a disability/illness to achieve their goals is required.
* Work flexibly and adapt to the employer’s needs on a daily basis.
