Job Summary
Barings’ Investment Grade Corporate team is seeking an investment professional with Five or more years of work experience for a senior credit analyst position. The candidate selected will join a global Investment Grade Corporate Credit team, including a seven-person analyst team, in London. The individual will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating investment opportunities for the Investment Grade Corporates team, which manages assets in excess of $80 billion. The Director level candidate will have the responsibility for lead coverage on Developed Market Banks within the Financials sector.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Provide analysis of investment grade corporate credits within the Financials (Banks) sector
2. Financial analysis and modeling
3. Evaluate companies and the risks related to investing in debt securities across the capital structure
4. Individual security analysis, including capital structure and indenture analysis, cash flow and liquidity analysis and total return and relative value assessment
5. Meet with management teams, develop industry contacts, and utilize other information sources to become an expert in assigned coverage
6. Produce clear and concise research reports based on independent observation and analysis
7. Produce quarterly industry reviews and communicate recommendations to portfolio management
8. Collaborate with other Barings’ investment teams optimizing efficiencies and framing relative value within sectors
9. Assist with special ad-hoc projects, presentations and initiatives
Qualifications
10. Seven or more years of credit analyst experience—either investment grade or high yield/bank debt/privates
11. CFA and/or MBA preferred
12. Client presentation experience preferred
13. Excellent writing and communications skills
14. Ability to work as a member of a fast-paced, transaction oriented team
15. Self-starter, must be organized and able to work independently
16. Ability to prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities
17. Ability to perform under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines
18. Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office applications, Bloomberg, etc
19. Some travel required
