GSL Education are currently welcoming applications from reliable Cover Supervisors to work in schools across Cleveland. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in education or progress towards a teaching career.
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will be responsible for leading lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring pupils remain focused and engaged.
Key Duties of Cover Supervisor:
* Supervise whole classes using pre-prepared lesson plans.
* Maintain a calm, positive, and well-managed classroom environment.
* Manage pupil behaviour in line with school policies.
* Support pupils with their work and keep them on task.
* Ensure continuity of learning during teacher absences.
* Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil behaviour and lesson outcomes.
Essential Requirements:
* Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or similar setting.
* Strong communication and classroom management skills.
* Confident in leading a classroom independently.
* Flexible, reliable, and well-organised approach.
* Ability to adapt to different subjects and situations.
* An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
