Payroll Officer Position
We are looking for a Payroll Officer to provide administrative support to the Payroll team, ensuring weekly and monthly payrolls are processed accurately and on time.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, key responsibilities include (please see the full job description and person specification for details):
1. Collating new starter, amendment, and leaver forms.
2. Attaching new employees to the monthly payrolls and processing payments/deductions.
3. Setting up new pro-rata musicians, actors, and children in payroll.
4. Processing changes such as rent, services, subsistence, and touring allowances.
5. Data input of hours, overtime, holiday, and absences.
6. Ensuring leavers are paid/deducted holiday pay.
7. Handling payroll-related queries.
To be suitable for this role, you should have:
* Payroll processing experience and understanding of PAYE, tax, and national insurance.
* Knowledge of current HMRC legislation.
* Excellent attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.
* Numeracy skills, including analyzing numerical data and proficiency in Excel (formulas, sorting, summarizing).
* Ability and commitment to meet deadlines.
* Proactive, flexible, and adaptable approach.
* Strong communication skills and team spirit.
This is a full-time, permanent role based in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The Finance department operates on a hybrid model, typically working 2–3 days remotely each week, subject to work demands and line manager approval. Normal hours are 35 per week, Monday to Friday, with additional hours as needed.
