Job Description
Position: Field Service Engineer (Door to door)
Salary: Up to 43k depending on experience
Location: Home based - Covering mainly UK & Ireland, with some European travel.
Benefits: Company vehicle, fuel card, company credit card, full toolkit, home-based, extra payments for weekend work (this isn't often working weekends).
Responsibilities:
1. Carrying out servicing, repairs, and installations at customer sites according to After Sales Service Levels.
2. Utilizing effective time management skills to prioritize Key Accounts and Service contract customers while maintaining the most economical route.
3. Managing resources, tools, parts, and skills to effectively complete assigned tasks and repairs.
4. Accurately closing jobs and cases, providing repair data, serial numbers, and parts used in a timely manner, and reporting unresolved faults to the Technical Service Manager.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience in a repair or service engineer role or similar, with a background in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic repair work.
* Majority of work split (approximately 70-30) with an electrical bias. Candidate should hold a City and Guilds in Engineering (or equivalent).
* Experience working with 24V and 415V systems.
* Experience in repairing and/or servicing glass industry equipment is a bonus but not essential, as training will be provided.
* Good communication skills are essential, especially in a customer-facing role, along with experience dealing with customers in pressurized environments. Proficiency in Word and Excel.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team and PC literacy.
* Must possess a full UK driver’s license and a valid UK passport with at least 9 months remaining.
