Job Title: Residential Childcare Worker (Part-Time)
Hours: 24 hours per week (3 shifts per week – Early and Late shifts)
Location: Cumnock, East Ayrshire
Salary: £15p/h PAYE

We are currently seeking a Residential Childcare Workers to join one of our clients caring and committed team. You will work 24 hours per week, over 3 shifts, with a combination of early and late shifts. Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the young people in their care.
About the Role:
As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people who have high and complex needs, including:
* Personal care support
* Non-verbal communication needs
* Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
* Challenging behaviour
You will be part of a nurturing, structured environment where your support can help each young person to feel safe, valued, and encouraged to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide day-to-day care, guidance, and support tailored to each young person’s needs
* Support with personal care routines in a respectful and dignified manner
* De-escalate challenging behaviours using trained approaches and maintain a calm, consistent presence
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to support individual care plans
* Promote independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion
Requirements:
* Experience working with young people with high needs is desirable
* Understanding of autism, non-verbal communication, and behavioural challenges
* Strong emotional resilience and the ability to stay calm under pressure
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
* Flexibility to work across early or late shifts as required
