Job Opportunity: Multi-Disciplinary Biomedical Scientist - Blood Sciences
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services network for a Multi-Disciplinary Biomedical Scientist in the Blood Sciences department based at Warwick Hospital. This role offers a varied and interesting work environment with excellent learning opportunities for individuals interested in Blood Sciences. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills and be able to work accurately and methodically following written protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform daily routine and specialised diagnostic services on patient and environmental samples containing potentially infectious material. This will be done on a rotational basis using manual and automated techniques according to standard operating procedures.
2. Interpret diagnostic investigations daily, know how to handle technical or analytical nonconformities, and when to inform the line manager.
3. Accurately and promptly enter data onto the laboratory computer system and/or automated analysers using a VDU and keyboard workstation.
4. Record reports for authorisation in electronic form and/or verbally to authorised personnel.
5. Perform quality checks on outputs and maintain necessary internal records.
