We are hiring a Support Worker to make a real difference in residents’ lives by improving their daily living skills. You will be part of a team providing 24-hour support to a service user with complex needs, learning disability and physical disability. The role is varied and focuses on enabling independence, personal care, daily living activities, and community engagement. A digital social care record system is used to support daily recording.
Where will I be working?
You will be part of a team providing 24-hour support at one of our services. The work includes personal care, cooking, medication support, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, and enabling residents to access employment, education, social events and new experiences. We tailor services to enable people to be as independent as possible.
Role Responsibilities
* Promote the independence of people we support
* Support a full range of daily activities including cleaning and cooking, days out, or holidays
* Arrange activities in the home and local community
* Develop residents\' life skills and personal interests
* Help residents stay safe and healthy
* Assist with personal care needs
* Manual handling where required
* Support people with medication
* Maintain records to the required standard and contribute to service monitoring

* Passionate, caring and enthusiastic
* Experience with complex needs in a support or care role
* Flexible, patient and non-judgemental
* A great team player with lots of energy
* Good communication skills
* Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role (manual handling) where needed
